Single in my 30's

For the last few years, I've had the same two question asked of me ad nauseam. "Why are you single?" & "When are you getting married?" Here are my answers: Because I don't date & probably never because I don't date.

Now you're probably wondering why I don't date. It's not for religious reasons or anything like that. The people in my life have told me my whole life: 

• I'm only pretty when I'm blonde
• I have a big nose
• My boobs are too small
• I have a sumo wrestler size ass
• I have thunder thighs
• I'm an ungrateful bitch
• I can't cook
• I can't clean
• When I cry, I'm a drama queen
• When I laugh, I'm too loud
• I'm a whore (although, never had sex)
• fat
• lazy
• stupid (with an IQ of 136)

If these are true, then what do I have to offer in a relationship?

If these are false, then why would I want to subject myself to more abuse?

I have just found it easier to stay to myself and remain single. Now you all know the answers to the questions.

Oh the Finale of It All!

I waited to write this so there would be no spoilers. If there is, its on you, I've given you more than enough time. So without further ado, three shows finales I would like to talk about.

#1 - How I Met Your Mother

A lot has been written about this one. I don't understand why so many people were upset on how it ended. If you watched the show since the beginning, the whole theme was around Ted & Robin. I don't understand how people think that Barney would change that much and stay in wedded bliss with Robin. In fantasy, maybe, but this show was ultimately about Ted. So of course, he was going to get the girl. 
So discussion ended.

#2 - Grey's Anatomy

I have watched this show since the first episode and as much as I love this show, it needs to end. Glad they finally did something with Cristina. Gave her a good ending. The only thing they left open ended was her and Owen. I'm glad that Shane went with her to Switzerland. 
Of all the drama that was going on; Cristina leaving, Derek's moving to DC, Alex becoming a private doctor, Callie & Arizona marriage, and Jackson & April's pregnancy, there is one story line that upsets me so much. The new head of cardiothoracic is the love child of Webber & Ellis Grey. Can you say 'daytime soap opera'? I kind of understood when they brought Lexi on as Meredith's sister. It would make sense that Thatcher (Meredith's dad) would remarry and have another family. I thought it was weird that she too would go into medicine and end up in the same program as her estranged half-sister. That's what drama shows do. But this story line? Come on!!
I hope the 2014-15 season is the end.

#3 - Castle

For years we waited for Richard and Kate to get together. This season they spent it planning their wedding. The fans were overjoyed!! Then shortly before the wedding, Kate found key evidence into her mother's murder that put the killer, who was a high powered senator that just put his hat in the ring to run for president. Then a few days before the wedding, she hands over a wanted mobster to a bike gang so they can receive the reward money and pay off her "husband's" debt. 

Along with every wedding, there will be drama. Things not going right, like dress being ruined and the venue cancelling at the last minute. The way they ended this season though, ripped my heart out of my chest! 

They were SO close! So close to walking down the aisle. For once, it was going to be okay. Then on his way to the venue, Richard noticed a black SUV racing him. They cut to Kate receiving a call and when she shows up to the scene, Castle's car was consumed in a fiery haze. 

So who did this? And why? 

Was it the senator, who may still have his network up and functional?

Was it the mobster, who's family may be a little on the upset side?

Or was it anybody else from Kate or Castle's past trying to ruin their day?

Congrats, writers. You got me waiting for fall.

What Do You Want From Me?

While I was at CPAC, I had some people ask me questions about how I would handle things as 'Your Choice for Libertarian Dictator in 2016'. I answered them then, but I thought I should let you, the citizens of these United States, know what is being asked of me. I'm also doing this to open dialogue.

What would you do about pot?

I would legalize marijuana. I see it as a renewable resource. It grows fairly fast, which leads to quick turn over and harvesting. The plants can then be used for medicine, paper, rope, oil, and canvas material. It would be good for America's economy. 

How about the Department of Education?

I would dissolve it. I truly believe that education should be decided at the state and local level. Here's one of the reasons why. I grew up in a farming community. The high school I attended had a FFA barn. Should every school have a FFA chapter or a barn? No. It made sense in my community. Every community, every state is different and should be treated as such. I don't believe people who have never been to your state should decide how you learn or what you teach. That's why we elect school boards.

Obamacare and Health Care? 

I would repeal the Affordable Care Act. It's full of mathematical errors. It doesn't make sense. Any bill that's over 50 pages should be marked TL;DR, then never voted on. Also, I would downsize the FDA. I believe it has grown too big and has become corrupt. 
I believe that health care should only be between the patient and their provider. No one else. If I want to live without man-made medicine, that should be my choice. If someone does not want to receive a blood transfusion, their choice. If someone doesn't want to buy insurance that doesn't fit their lifestyle, they shouldn't have to. 

Let's get back our freedom, America!

Testing Your Heart

"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessings that there will not be room enough to store it."   Malachi 3:10

 I was reading through my Duck Commander devotional and Al Robertson decided to use and meditate on this verse. Al talked about how he used to preach this. I grew up going to church and I have heard SO many sermons on tithing. How I should tithe to the church, or whoever was 'feeding' me. How I'm planting seeds in faith. On the other hand, I was raised my parents, who always said it was the Lord's money. Sometimes the tithing/offering money went to who they were led to give it to. Sometimes it was the church. Sometimes other ministries or missionaries. Sometimes to a friend who needs financial help. 

But I love how Al describes what this verse is God is saying 'Try to out give me! Think that giving all that you have in the world will leave with nothing? Try me. I will bless you with everything you gave and more!' 

All too often today, we as Christians lose where our focus should be. We get caught up in language, people's lifestyles, or church politics. This is not what we were made for! We were made to give.

Giving isn't just about money. Though if you listen to some churches preach about it, that's where their focus is and that's wrong. We are to give all of ourselves. Time. Love. Talent. Friendship. Whatever you have, give it with a thankful heart. If you do this, you will notice an awesome and radical change in your life!!

The Unofficial 'Stray Katz' Drinking Game

For those of you that don't know, 'Stray Katz' is the nickname of Tony Katz's radio show's chat

room. Tony's show airs from 9 pm - Midnight daily on 93.1 WIBC in Indianapolis. A 'fan' of the show wrote in to discuss Tony's alleged stuttering problem and mentioned about taking a drink every time Tony 'stuttered'.
